THE OUTLAW SEGMENT

A 3 minute news piece I wrote about the changing face of civil rights, minority law and referenda.

Filmed in front of a green screen, this piece points towards the positive leaps and bounds governments around the world have made, the shortfalls and the ongoing work that needs to happen.

THE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Award winning film director Sophie Deraspe (pictured) is best known for her 2015 documentary The Amina Profile, an exploration of the Amina Abdallah Arraf al Omari hoax of 2011. The story made world headlines, and was the subject to debate from CNN to the BBC.

I was lucky enough to interview her about this now iconic documentary at it's screening.

Our show later went on to interview the people in the story, who have subsequently fled the Syrian conflict to North America.

THE HERITAGE PROJECT

Learning about gay culture before 1990 is difficult due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the community, the shame that this carried and the incredible people of society who lost their lives to this disease.

The award winning theatre production of the Gay Heritage Project links the past to the present, and tells the stories that we almost lost.

I spoke to the creators of the show to find out how they pieced it all together.
